Week 9 - Force Connection 1

We learnt about Force Connection for this week's creative thinking class. Here are my mindmaps and notes from what i learnt in class.

I notice that force connection is somewhat similar to Juxtaposition (the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect), a topic that i learnt from 3D Fundamental class. Force connection can be many different things which adds up to become a multifuctional item whereas juxtaposition is the contrast between two things. I believe that force connection is extremely impportant for product innovators as they constantly have to think of new ideas on how to make their products improved and creative.

Below are some juxtaposition objects around my house that i can relate to this topic

cat + lamp

Cartoon character + Thumbdrive

ice Cube + light bulb 

candle + cover = lamp

I realised that juxtaposition is more on aesthetics whereas force connections is about functionality.

I remember having alot of these multi-functional pencil boxes when i was a kid. It also had my favourite cartoon characters on the cover of the pencil box.

i honestly would not buy this as it looks extremely uncool on a person.

i have this cute object at home but it is kept in the storeroom T.T . It is multi-functional and very useful for outdoor sleepovers.
